Sweet and Simple Spring Mantle

I think spring has finally come to Michigan!

My lilac bushes are in bloom and the scent is heavenly. And the birds are singing after a long cold winter.

What better way to celebrate spring than to bring a bit of the outdoors in?

Fresh blooming lilacs in jam jars…

mismatched thrifted candleholders and a little ceramic bird from the dollar store…

In case you are wondering why the mirror has those Frankenstein-like protrusions (!) it’s because it was previously attached to a vintage dresser I’ve been refinishing. I just love the curvy shape. I gave it one coat of white paint to let some of the wood show through. My goal is to finish the dresser this weekend and reveal it next week:)

So here it is…my spring mantle, sweet and simple.
